Fall & Our First “Resident”

Our baked apples – one of new fall offerings!

Of note this month has been our new linens and table settings.  We’ve replaced the multicolored place mats with a nice solid blue and our maroon napkins are a clean white.  We’ve also begun serving our fall seasonal menu which includes baked pears with homemade whipped cream, rosemary roasted potatoes, and pumpkin French toast among many other seasonal options.

On top of all these changes, we celebrated our first wedding of the fall.  A beautiful bride, ceremony, and location made for a perfect wedding for everyone involved.  Congratulations again to Suzanne and John as they start their married lives together.

Finally, we just had to mention our good friend Dalyce who stayed with us for an entire week.  She really took advantage of all that Williamsburg has to offer including Jamestown, Colonial Williamsburg, and even drove all the way to Monticello to visit Thomas Jefferson.  Dalyce, we know you’re reading this and we want you to know that you and guests like you are why running a bed and breakfast is such an enjoyable job.  Thank you for your sunny countenance and enthusiasm every morning.  Whenever you’re in town, just know your table is here, waiting for you.

  1. Hello Alex and Laura,

I’m happy to have the distinction of being your first “resident.” I had a truly delightful time staying with you at The Cedars!! I looked forward each morning to the exceptional breakfast choices your chef, Bobby, created. The absolute best ever!! I also looked forward to Alex’s cheerful and energetic company as he served us breakfast. Alex, your enthusiasm for history is really contagious! The rooms are beautifully decorated and homey and kept spotlessly clean by the outstanding housekeeping team of Dee Dee and Brittany. The experience was like visiting with old friends. I will surely be back when I am in the area.
